Hoppy Easter....

If you are looking for a unique idea for a coworker, child, friend, what have you, for Easter, look no further....I've taken my collection of spring vintage planters and turned them into miniature Easter baskets! All of them are wrapped in celephane and contain Easter gum, except for the one bunny rabbit cup that has marshmallow twists in it instead. I will be happy to hand-letter a gift tag for you to go with them if you'd like me to. Please go to www.etsy.com and search for me there...my username is drawingandcoloring. You will find all of these jewels, while they last, right there. There is more to come, of course!

cockadoddledoooooo

that's what the rooster says if your name is "Anna Woocy Key"....cock-a-dod-dle-dooooo....

This hand-carved rooster is all one piece of wood and way-awesome. It is like an 8x10 size, and I'm having a hard time parting with him. He can be yours, though, if you are in love with him like I am...just go here: www.artbyabby.org, go to gallery, then items for sale, then scroll down to see mr. cockadoddle.
Here's to a great week to all of you!

Leaving on a jetplane....

I think one of the things I will miss about the drive to work is seeing the airplanes each morning, wondering where the people are going, hearing the sound, marveling at the size of them, that they can just "hang" in the air....making up stories in my head about where they are going, the passengers on the planes, and praying for their safe travels. It was always neat to me to think that I was praying for people that would be going to all corners of the world. I guess after working where I did, one understands the "far reaches" of the world even more. And the need for prayer in each and ever corner of it. So, today's pic is of a doodle I did that hung on my desk, and a paperclip that my buddy saved for me to make me happy one day....because she knew my love for planes and flying. Thanks, Buddy! I love you!

Dream...

Here is a tag I doodled for Suzelle. She is from Haiti and therefore, she speaks French. It is her utmost desire to go back to her country and help the poor...to help the next generation so that maybe, someday soon, some how, her country will not be so poor. I made this tag with lots of love for her and her country, and I will miss seeing her face each day and "going home for lunch" in so many ways. Suzelle, I love you! I am a better person for having known you and your love.

Optimism

I start this blog (and my NEW WEBSITE: www.artbyabby.org) with much optimism and excitement for the future it holds; I am excited to be thinking creatively {again} and putting those creative thoughts to work. I hope you will follow my blog and enjoy this adventure with me.....stay tuned.....I've never heard anyone tell me I'm boring!

(The inspiration for this card I made is my friend, Sarah, who was diagnosed last April, I believe, with breast cancer. This girl, also a diabetic and a mother, has shown me how to find optimism in ANY situation. What an inspiration she is, and what a lucky person I am to have been a part of her life. Please pray for her, her husband, Dave, and their daughter, Bella. To read more about her story, please visit her CaringBridge page here: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sarahdotson.)

Thanks for stopping by! (Does *your* optimism wear combat boots and roar???? I hope so!)
